Free Ape Player is a small audio player created by SoftRM. This application can play APE and MP3 music files. APE is sometimes referred to as Monkey Audio files - files intended for lossless audio data compression, which means that during encoding/compressing audio files don't lose quality, unlike other music formats. However, APE files are not very common; therefore, not many media players support this kind of format. Free Ape Player allows you to open a Monkey audio file and play it without complications.
The application is really simple: a very minimalistic interface, consisting only of the basic media player features, including visualization modes. You can cycle through the three visualization modes by clicking on the window. And that is all the program offers. You do not have the possibility to create a playlist or select several files to play in a queue - just one-file playback. Yes, you can get better mp3 audio players out there, but not an APE player. If you need to play an APE file in a quick way and for free, then this is the program may be the right choice for you. |
